Extracts from Session 15 (Day 15) of 15th December 2021 – Question and Answer Session (Continued)
Yogi Pradeep Ullal
Qu: How to drop this drama or suffering? Is it something that happens within you depending on outside situations? How to drop something that is subjective?
How to end suffering?
Ans: Let us be honest. We have subscribed to drama and we have chosen our partners, our friends, our relatives, our soul families and entered into this dream compartment. Now, either you choose to eject out of the train or you change your compartment. But then if you have not dropped the fear of losing people or fear of losing the drama, you still are connected. People say: I will stop talking to you. Actually, you start thinking more when you stop talking. It is better to make peace and realise that if you can laugh at the drama together, it makes sense. Whoever is in drama with you, just make peace with the fact that we have both subscribed to the same drama channel, can we realise it, can we watch it? I do this to my spouse. I tell her can you see through the drama? Can we laugh at it? Can we see through all the characters that are coming in the way of the love for the Source? Why is it that our drama is so powerful that we forget the Divine? We are so engrossed in our day to day struggle and that is what suffering is because we think this is the ultimate battleground, mother of all battles. Nothing is more important than that. So, in the process of the battle becoming more intense, we forget what we came for. We forget that there is a force which is mocking at us, laughing at us. So, those who can see through this, just look up and say: I see you laughing at me. Start celebrating the cosmic laughter. The roaring laughter atahaasa flowing through you and say: I understood the joke my dears and how much more will you trouble me? The suffering will no longer be able to affect those people who can laugh at this joke, those who can celebrate this joke, those who can reorganise themselves to realise the cosmic channels of light watching over us. So, make sure you are a director of this show by unlocking your own potential power to realise the laughter. For those who find it difficult, start watching comedy channels and laugh it, all the incidental, situational comedies of life. Eventually, look at your own life. We are all part of the situational comedy.
In the significance of this Cosmos why should the Force be so interested in our drama? Are we contributing so much to the Brahmajyoti? Great avatars like Krishna who came here – the whole Cosmos was looking at him, glaring what will he do on this planet Earth? We are still not avatars. We are still just jivatma in a frail body. What is our mission? Ask yourself what is your mission. Have you come here for self-glory, just to run a family, buy vegetables, cook food and watch TV and go back to sleep? So, how much of grace do you need for such things? Just existential glory thinking that our lives are very important.
If you make a choice that you are going to be useful in many powerful ways, go grow a forest, take on challenges. If you are going to work for loka kalyana (for common good of this dimension), you have to be selfless, choiceless, tireless. Once you achieve that selfless, choiceless, tireless as a genuine powerful way of living without complaining, without struggle, where is the suffering?
Suffering is for people who think that my problem is bigger than the Lord. Is our problem bigger that the Lord who is designing this whole bliss channel? Bliss is our original design. Suffering is implanted by our own characterisations, we are not happy by the way we are.
There is a beautiful statement: “God created man. Man designed God”. We have designed God in ways we wanted, we coloured it. We think that God has gone away somewhere and he’s going to come. Jesus is going to come. Thy Kingdom come. If Jesus arises and comes back into this planet, they will find ways to find faults. So, all these are human fallacies that we don’t honour the people when they are alive, Then, we make a big wall-hanging photograph of them, put garlands around and talk glorious eulogies, orbituaries and sing, pray for them.
It is important to remember that suffering is a choice as much as celebration, but people choose suffering. Celebration is not so great. You will celebrate on 31st December night. The rest of the days, we will be in deep trouble, deep trauma. So, it is kind of a viral disease, an epidemic in itself. People need suffering to come out of coma. Otherwise comatose is a kind of a factory setting. People want to go into sedated mode. When people imagine that Divine can only be accessed through nasha or drug, we feel that we normally can’t feel the Divine. Working on ourselves: If we can consciously work on ourselves so intensely, you will sense and feel the craziest bliss wave without the need for any intervention, any abuse of drugs or substances or alcohol, you’ll need nothing. Love itself is the biggest drug of all. Music is the biggest drug of all. What do we want? We become difficult. We want the most unattainable, unavailable state and we will go far and far looking for it.
How does the drama go on? Drama does not go on in realisation. Drama goes on in ignorance. Without ignorance, how would the channel operate? Why is television still existing, OTT, radio channels, FM channels? All these are existing because there is some listener, some audience, somebody who has paid for the crap. TV used to be called the idiot box. TV is the idiot box because we are so dumbed that we will sit and watch some characters fighting with each other. Imagine how many idiots are watching our drama. There is a superior idiot channel who think that our drama is worthy of watching. If you make your drama crazy beautiful – celebration is also part of drama, it’s part of the dream.
Celebration is also when all the cells in your body vibrate at a frequency where there is only one pillar of light, one sound, one thought, the thought itself is unity, the state itself is unity. Incredible amount of connectedness that makes us feel the whole Cosmos wants to flow through us at one single instant. You cannot live in permanent unity awareness in this body because I heard a beautiful Master once who said he was so engrossed in unity, he could not even eat food, the food became part of his body. He says how can I eat my own body? So powerful that you cannot even eat food. That is why the force has given us a sense of small separation that this is the body which has got a frame and network and a certain frequency. Frequency of an apple comes to you, you get excited by watching it and you get a salivary signal to the brain and you consume that apple, you relish the apple and you thank the Lord. So, this is part of the design. If the apple becomes you, you become the apple, then there is no more duality, there is only unity, the Force would stop the design itself from functioning. The Force works through duality and from duality return to unity, this is part of the drama. Suffering is duality. You have to access celebration through duality. If you do not have a body, how could you feel bliss in the body? So, you need a body for enhancement, for upgradation, for celebration of the very nature of it, origin of it.
But at the same time, if people say I am too old, I am too fragile, I am too sick, it’s a degeneration. We have to make sure that we are strong and wise enough to do the necessary activity before we drop to that state. Many people have hit an irreparable, irretrievable state. How are you going to help somebody who is downhill so much that they are ready to kick the bucket and now they cannot suddenly become blissful and celebrate it.
So, please remember we have to work towards it right now when we can. Don’t wake up so late that the force has lost interest in you. The force is watching very intently. I can tell you for sure this is a clear signal given that I am going to spend every bit of my life in divine remembrance, in divine activity that there is no separation between this body and the Divine. It just becomes a huge pillar of light by itself.
Qu: It’s like we are programmed to suffer. We need to deprogram ourselves?
Ans: Programming is a two-way process like now if you decide to be happy any day and somebody says no it is not good today, you should not be happy. Today you have to suffer.
When Osho left this planet – before he left he told people: Celebrate my death. Let it be a grand celebration. So, for 21 days, there were people singing, dancing gleefully, joyfully around the ashram. They were celebrating the passing away of this Master. They said Osho merely visited the Earth between 1931 – 1990. What happens is if we have just merely visited this planet, passing through this planet, why is death considered such a big trauma? If we can celebrate the passing away of a being to higher dimensions, we should celebrate instead of mourning. So, all the religions have got together and made it look like some major tragedy and so we have to sit and mourn and mourn, cry and then eventually we feel that all our verbology is going to help the soul to ascend. Imagine, we can’t even save a person on the death bed, how can we save the soul from its limitations and does the soul need us? The soul does not need us. All the prayers are basically for our own self-satisfaction.
So, focus on the real knowledge and not on something somebody has told you and you just become a slave to it. What I meant is that you have to do what you came for. I am here talking to you but do you see any lacklustre activity in my body? No, Kriyais my primary focus. I am still answering your questions and still remembering that focal point is that we need to pass through the channels of limitations and achieve that rising. All the verbology is for balancing that very curious intellect. Intellect wants to know.
Knowing v/s direct knowing
See the difference. In realisation is direct knowing. Intellectual knowing can be replaced. Tomorrow you will hear some other lecture and say that seems better than this. Most people are having serious trouble with philosophies. One day two guys were having an argument. One of them is an atheist, the other is a believer. So, the whole village got together and said we will find a way to get these two guys to argue. So, the whole village got together and convinced the two guys who sat and argued the whole night about God v/s No God. At the end of the whole night session, someone asked what is the result of this conversation? The believer said: I think he has a point. There is no point in believing without having an experience. They asked the atheist who said: He has a point. I stopped believing without having an experience. Both are so relevant.
Walk the talk. If you have it in you, expression will come out. I saw an artist flourish in front of my eyes. Her name is Meetu. She is in Dubai. She had barely started painting when I first met her. She would just come on skype session and watch my eyes and just stay focused for so long. She said: I want to meet you. I met her in Dubai and I saw an artist bloom. Today, she makes the most incredible paintings which are presented the New York galleries and in Kevala, we have got some incredible paintings from her. So, how? The art is within. It just emerges from an expression when you click in. Clicking in is a very crucial part of the process. So, the talent, the gift inherently embedded, inherited through the grace. Focus on grace to be the guide for this journey. Otherwise, you will just end up with lot of words and no talent and skill and we will all imagine that we are just standing in the queue.
In the feast of the greedy, nobody goes home satisfied. We have to drop the greed for acquiring because this realisation is to drop trying to acquire something. It just flows as expression. I talk to so many world class musicians. They said just before they start the concert, they are in complete zero. The whole Cosmos is giving them what to say, what to sing, what to do. That is an incredible moment for them – more than the concert, that moment of innermost silence. It is inevitable that we need to tap into that silence so strongly that it just nullifies our thought dimension, so that all the intellect that is stored within us as so many variables, just keeps popping up every day with a new challenge.
The sign of purity of a being is ability to convert intent into action, the death of the fear itself. Ramana Maharishi just told his mother that I have to go to Arunachala. Nothing can stop me because I want to crack open the real code of my life, what I came for. Nobody could stop him. His own mother was crying. He said: I will come back to you and help you at the point of need. This whole concept of so called drama first and then Divine later – How can drama be first and then Divine later? – Divine comes first and Drama will sort itself. So, one fine day, Ramana put his hand over the head of his mother before she passed on. She could see three pending life times in flash in three minutes and then she was liberated. Ramana made a statement that she was liberated. To acquire that level of gift, he had to go to Arunachala and be in tapasya. If he had stayed with his mother to sort the drama first, Divine would have escaped from his destiny. So, make sure Divine comes first, then comes mechanism to sort the drama.
Qu: Please talk about destiny and free will
Ans: Interesting. If you are attuned enough, you will listen to the inner voice. I will give an example to you, my own personal example. I was driving a car just near Kevala and I heard the inner voice (not the physical sound of the voice). I heard the inner voice talk to me and said that you are going to meet with an accident in a little while. Don’t worry, you will be protected. Now, I held the wheel strong in the middle of the road. I said how will I ever have this accident? I will make sure that I am consciously aware and in pure cognition of what is happening. So, eventually, I drove 1 km and there was a vehicle coming in front of me. I had no choice in the small road in front of Kevala to back up. When I started reversing, the wheel slid into the gutter. So, what do I do? I just laughed. The first reaction I had is I laughed at this so called destiny. Destiny was meant to unravel. The car had to meet with something that could not be stopped, unstoppable state. It had to meet with an accident. There was no damage. Two guys just arrived out of nowhere on a bike. They put the jack and lifted the car and then safely pulled the car out of the gutter. The free will was I could have just stopped the car as soon as I got the premonition and waited so that I could stop the car from accident, stop the event. Probably, I could have gone in somebody else’s car. How would the destiny shift? I would have probably met with a more damaging accident. The supreme trust emerges out of awareness unless you prepare yourself to listen, to access, the Force will guide us, protect us. It just wants to stamp its presence. I feel that we all need to grow. There are so many billions of accidents happening on this planet as we are speaking right now. Can we stop them? So, destiny will continue to guide us through a certain pre-subscribed script that we have chosen but now free will is: we will find ways to circumvent these disastrous accidents through higher awareness, knowledge, wisdom, skill. Skill is to listen and absorb the premonition, the warnings and also have the ability to tune in. With a mantra, you can prevent an accident or you could prevent damage from the accident. You cannot prevent really the accident but the damaging aspect of it.
Destiny is part of subscription. Free will is choices to attain a profound impact that can shift the destiny.
Qu: How to draw the line between drama and dharma (duty)?
Ans: Very interesting question. You could make somebody into a complete wasted guy by just providing food in the mouth. You call it duty. If somebody is capable of helping himself or herself, we have to just enable that person to be active. Just don’t think it’s your duty to go and serve the undeserving who have all the faculty in place. Your dharma is to realise the Self so that you can witness the drama with clarity.
Qu: What is the need for purusharta when there is destiny?
Ans: Even destiny is part of purusharta. I will give you an example. Gautama Buddha, before he became Gautama, was sitting in the highest dimensions and there was a reflective pool in front of him. He saw an image of him, not as a body, but there was a calling. He looked down and he said there is a lower dimension called planet Earth calling him for doing a very major role play. He even saw the womb of his would be mother. He even saw Lumbini, the point where he would go. So, he knew the destiny. He was already a Master. There was no need for him to figure out. Yet, when he came to his body, he was looking for the truth. So, the journey of Gautama to become a Buddha – Siddhartha – What is this journey? As part of the process, he had to go through the realisation that there is suffering on this planet. He had a choice. He could become a king of kings or the most celebrated saint. But then the destiny could not stop him from becoming a realised being and his ascension is revered as the most powerful event ever on this Cosmos. He knew of it but he had to still go through the process. So, destiny is embedded with purusharta. It has to be realised through a revelation. It is not straightforward, plug and play. How does the evolution go on? It goes on progressively through a process. So, don’t forget the process, don’t forget the progression. But acceleration, catalyst is your Sadhana.
Qu: How to awaken the inner Guru: alignment and silence?
Ans: Guru is a very misunderstood concept because we have always thought Gurumeans somebody who has worn a saffron cloth and somebody who has got some red lines on his forehead and all kinds of identifiable concepts. But Guruis within all of us, whether we like it or not, it is there. But it is in dormant state, un-awakened state. Guruis the inner flame which connects to the Jyotirlinga, the pillar of infinite light. This flame is like a small little spark in an un-awakened state. People have trouble trying to even bow down to a being who has realised it. They would rather bow down in front of the Armani-suited guy because there you see the power game. The death of the ego doesn’t mean that you will completely become comatose. It’s just that you will realise that it is not worthy of flashing your torchlight at the sun and then when you come into that complete nothingness, the light will emerge from the darkest dark inside us. That light will permanently illuminate us. That is Guru. Guru is not like yesterday there was Guru. Today I got disappointed, the Guru is not flashing. Guru is the permanent, eternal remembrance of the whole Cosmos as a teacher, permanent state of surrender, gratitude, awareness, consistent acceleration towards the Source. The anugraha is a constant stream coming to us and pulling us back to the Source and Guru is the mechanism for anugraha to be passing through. So, the Guru becomes the channel. Guru becomes the medium. Guru becomes the enabler, connector.
Silence: Unipointedness. Some people may be in silence, a stoned silence out of their own trauma. Some people are in an internal chatter but the mouth is closed. That’s not really silence. Silence is when you cannot even try to think. Design has reached the point of pinnacle axis of alignment, there is nothing to think about. You just are in complete harmony, complete bliss, that there is nothing more to express. Even the words will fail and that is silence. It will enable the stillness and silence together and the flame will come alive constantly to remember that in the darkest dart emerges the lightless light. That is Guru.
Qu: Is atma itself a Guru?
Ans: Yes. Atma is the Master, the Guru but not all of us have the capacity to straightaway deal with it. People are having tough time to deal with a headache. How will they encounter the Self so powerfully?
What do we do when we have so much to do and so much to reveal? I think we need both the elemental flow of Dhaatu, we need Maatu also. Maatu enables us to reinforce. Maatu means words. The words of a realised being penetrates, pierces the heart and resides there -that’s what power is. Power is not just emptiness of words. It is the Force talking through the being who is meant to guide at the point of need.
As a sixteen-year old, when I listened to Osho, I used to always feel that Maa Saraswati is talking through him and I had the privilege and honour of connecting so deeply to the very sense of where is the Source of this knowledge. It is coming from a particular channel. So what is the channel we are connected with? That is a very intriguing aspect of this. If we know what are we connected with – it makes revelation easier and then confusions of interpretations and philosophical conflicts and debates and arguments just come in the way of our purity. So, make sure anything that leads you to deep trust, surrender, gratitude, compassion, infinite love and selfless service is the right channel. It cannot be that my knowledge is bigger than yours, the kind of competitive ego dimension. That’s why it is so important to access the lesha. Lesha Vidya means going to the micro details, also shattering the ego to just remain in its micro presence. Just enough ego to protect this body. Just enough ego to have an expression of the art, skill, talent and communication with us.
Let us trust that all we have discussed today should lead us to a phenomenal state. Otherwise, it will just go wasted.
