Kevala adopted contemporary vernacular architecture for constructing the Celebration Centre. Kevala site
is located in a valley surrounded by 360 degrees of hills and tall silver oak plantations. It was
important to make best use of existing contour and also build a strong structure with open terraces that
would enable the spectacular view of the hills.
Laterite was chosen as the principle material for construction across the project. Random rock rubble, wire cut bricks and granite rubble was interspersed to highlight the vernacular expression.
The design went through several stages of fine tuning on site as we explored the optimal ways to utilize the space and blend it with the natural landscape.
